Arkansas Surgical Hospital Performance Indicators Show Positive Signs of Recovery
Arkansas Surgical Hospital has performed the most monthly surgeries in their 18-year history of existence. While the number of procedures decreased amidst the global pandemic, this key performance indicator indicates an increase in patients prioritizing their healthcare needs. In August of 2023, 830 surgeries were completed by the surgeons at the physician-owned facility. The increase happened at a time when quality care of patients is at an all-time high.
“What makes this achievement significant is not the number itself,” said Dr. Scott Bowen, chairman of the board and orthopedic surgeon. “Behind every procedure at Arkansas Surgical Hospital is a patient and behind every patient is a family. These are the people that we are caring for, and every patient here is treated with the utmost care and compassion. While we’re proud of the work we do and the number of successful surgeries we complete, the quality of care we provide to our patients is what makes us most proud.”
In recent months, Arkansas Surgical Hospital has been recognized for being in the top 5% for patient experience from Press Ganey, has earned the Blue Distinction Center+ designation for quality and cost-efficiency in spine surgery and knee and hip replacement, and continues to be in the highest ranked category from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The CEO of Arkansas Surgical Hospital attributes the accomplishment to consumer confidence in hospital care increasing now that the global pandemic is over, as well as the high-quality work by their physicians and medical staff.“While we’re excited about this milestone, we also know that quality is much more important than quantity,” said Brian Fowler, Arkansas Surgical Hospital, CEO. “The numbers indicate that consumers are not only once again prioritizing healthcare needs, but that patients are choosing Arkansas Surgical Hospital for their orthopedic and spine care.”
